@hagiosgraphia I’ll never forget being in downtown Dallas for the final game. The streets were flooded within 10 minutes of the win. It was hard for this Houstonian to not be a Mavericks fan that night.

@ReaderJohn Thank you for the helpful reflections. I almost dismissed Miller's article for the same reason before the moral imperative of the conclusion grabbed me. I'm hopeful for the prospect of third parties. I don't know how indicative it is of broader trends but I have a number of friends, who have long rejected third party options, finally coming around.
@toddgrotenhuis I’d love to hear what you think once you read it! As a Baptist, I agree on the the fact that it had to be recovered. What I’ve found surprising is the extent to which early Baptists cited the church fathers in their arguments for religious liberty.
